ALF (Advanced Lightwire Force) Therapy
The ALF device is a delicate, flexible appliance that encourages natural craniofacial growth and balance. It supports airway development, relieves TMJ strain, and facilitates gentle development without unnatural orthodontic forces. Dr. Sia is one of the first students who was taught by Dr. Darrick Nordstrom, the inventor of the ALF appliance.
JFO (Jaw Functional Orthopaedics)
Jaw Functional Orthopaedics (JFO) is a field of dentistry that focuses on guiding how the jaws grow and function, rather than just straightening the teeth. It uses specially designed appliances to gently influence the size, shape, and position of the jaws so that the teeth, jaw joints, muscles, and airway can work together in a more balanced way.
TMJ and Facial Pain Treatment
Our approach aims to uncover and address the underlying cause of TMJ dysfunction and the symptoms related to it — often rooted in jaw misalignment, airway restriction, or muscular tension. Treatments combine structural support with neuromuscular re-education, creating a more harmonious bite and supporting appliances for long-term relief.

Dr. Sia (D.D.S.)
Dr. Sia is a recognised dental surgeon in the field of Airway Focused Dentistry and clinical integration of Myofunctional Therapy and Orthodontics.
Dr. Sia is an advocate of team approach, working with other specialities to offer you the most comprehensive care.
During his 30+ years of experience, Dr. Sia has introduced holistic dental care in children and adults to practices in Portugal, the UK and Sweden.
At the Airway Clinic in Stockholm, Dr. Sia and the team bring together the latest science of dentistry with the art of functional approach and design — restoring natural balance between the teeth, jaws, muscles, and the airway. Each treatment plan is carefully designed around the patient’s individual needs and symptoms, growth patterns, and overall health.
Our clinic’s mission is simple: to identify and correct the underlying imbalances that lead to poor function, sleep issues and pain, supporting the body to heal and develop in harmony.

MEET our myofunctional therapist
Jessica Gorlee (OMFT)
Jessica Gorlee is a licensed Speech and Language Therapist and certified Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist (OMFT) with extensive experience in functional airway health.
She began her work in myofunctional therapy in 2004 in the Netherlands, where she received training in OMFT and developed a strong clinical focus on the relationship between breathing, tongue posture, swallowing patterns, and craniofacial development.
Jessica works with both children and adults in the areas of speech, voice, oral motor function, and communication disorders. Her approach is playful, structured and evidence-informed, integrating breathing patterns, posture, neuromuscular coordination, and sensory processing. By addressing the whole body and underlying functional patterns, she helps her patients reach permanent improvements in oral function and airway health.
